Our Standards
A few plain-language commitments that apply across this entire site — not just the research page.
We don't diagnose, and we don't want to
Nothing on this site — our self-assessment guides, our measurement tools, our educational content — is designed to replace a physician's judgment. They're a starting point for understanding your own body, not a diagnosis.
If you have a suspected leg length discrepancy or persistent pain, the right next step is always a conversation with a doctor, physical therapist, or podiatrist, not just a purchase from us.
We tell you when our product isn't the right fit
A heel lift isn't right for every situation. We're upfront that MESA is not appropriate for pediatric LLD, functional LLD without professional guidance, structural scoliosis with vertebral wedging, discrepancies over 20mm without clinical supervision, or recent foot, ankle, or spinal surgery.
See the full detail on our MESA HexLift™ Guide. We'd rather you know that before you buy than after.
We show our work
Every research claim we make links directly to the actual study. We tell you how strong the evidence is — a single small trial and a well-replicated body of research aren't presented with the same confidence.
Read more on how we handle evidence on our Evidence page.
We tell you when we're getting paid
If we recommend a partner — like our imaging referral partner, Sesame Care — and we earn a commission or other compensation when you use that link, we say so, right next to the recommendation. Not in a terms page you'll never read.
If you ever see a recommendation on this site that doesn't disclose a financial relationship, that's a mistake — tell us and we'll fix it.
Something seems off?
If you spot a claim on this site that seems overstated, a source that doesn't say what we say it says, or a disclosure we missed — email us. We'd genuinely rather hear about it from you than not know.
